“For nothing is impossible with God.” Luke 1:37
Finishing well In mid-December, I finished my year of language school in Albertville, France. I passed my last set of exams, packed a year’s worth of school work, and said some poignant goodbyes to faculty and classmates. It was an incredible opportunity to study there and I’ll cherish my memories.
Gratitude In spite of a slight “detour” in my trip home, I arrived safely and with all my luggage, and was able to spend Christmas with my family.
Reconnecting I’ve already been able to spend time with some friends and have plans to meet with others. The Explorer Girls group at my home church is giving me the privilege and opportunity to share my ministry. Then, in February, I hope to visit friends at one of my supporting churches in Alabama.
Opportunity A friend of mine has introduced me to two retired women who are native-French speakers. These lovely women have graciously agreed to meet with me on a regular basis, as long as I’m home, so that I can keep practicing my conversational French. This is a wonderful provision from the Lord. I struggle most with understanding what I hear and I’m looking forward to practicing without having to juggle learning new material or homework as well.
Waiting All the training programs are over. Language school (formally!) is complete. Now what? I could leave for Senegal as soon as I pack my suitcase and buy my plane ticket except for one thing… Due to budget increases, I need to raise more support. I love being home and seeing everyone, but this isn’t where I belong. My team is waiting for me and I’m anxious to join them.
Please pray for:
- additional financial support
- continued progress in speaking French
Praise for:
- a good finish to my year at language school
- safe travel home and time with family and friends
- the two ladies who have agreed to be my language partners
- all of you! Your prayers and encouragement keep me going!
Blessings,
Lori
